Gervonna Scott

Gervonna Scott is a Board-Certified and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPC012153) with certificates in Therapeutic Art Life Coaching and Professional Life Coaching.Gervonna has a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She began her career traveling door to door to treat mood disorders, substance dependence and defiant behavioral issues in teens and adults in community settings. She held a position as a DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) clinician at a reputable residential agency in Atlanta, GA serving gender and sexuality diverse adults with moderate to severe thought, mood and personality disorders. Post agency work, she joined a private practice to treat individuals with mood, personality, sexuality and relationship challenges in the Black community. In recent years, she joined a Certifed Gottman Method couples therapy practice where affair recovery and intimacy rehabilitation became her specialties.  

Gervonna practices an eclectic approach built on a behaviorist and psychoanalytic foundation. In other words, she explores the relationship one has with their environment, and the impact that environment has on one's conscious and unconscious behavior, placing focus on transgenerational trauma. She’s certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and trained in Cognitive Behavioral techniques. Gervonna also has extensive training in Sexology with experience working with sexual pain, sexual orientation and interest shame, diminished attraction, desire discrepancies and erotic exploration. Her training also includes Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, and for couples, the Gottman Method, Prepare/Enrich and Imago techniques. These specific areas of study have advanced her skill set to more effectively work with multicultural identities challenged with depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, sexual issues, trauma and relationship stress.


Gervonna's therapy style is lovingly direct, compassionate and relaxed. She values authenticity and inspires her clients to achieve their version of an authentic presentation.
